Prof. Olafs Ūdris
Internal medicine doctor. Hematologist
Dr. med. Olafs Ūdris graduated from the Riga Medical Institute (now Rīga Stradiņš University). After graduating he began working as an internal medicine doctor at the Krustpils hospital. He was a much-valued doctor there, and for many years after he was admitted to the postgraduate programme of the Riga Medical Institute, people from Krustpils still travelled to Riga to consult him.
His scientific supervisor during the postgraduate programme was the legendary professor Kristaps Rudzītis. After completing it, Dr. Ūdris defended his doctoral thesis and began leading the scientific research department of the Medical Institute. More than 30 scientists worked under his supervision, among them 12 doctors of science.
Dr. Ūdris specialises in blood diseases but is well versed in the broad spectrum of internal medicine. He is the author of many scientific publications and a co-author of two medical books, “Internal Diseases” and “Questions of Liver Pathology”.
For the last 20 years he has been successfully treating patients at the “Balt-Med-Ros” medical center (now “Sol Med”), achieving good results even in complex cases where patients had long been without a correct diagnosis or where treatment had not helped.
